One of my favorite ramens of all time!
So I've been super excited to write this review because this is one of my favorite ramen's and Richard's favorite ramen of all time. This is Paldo's Jjamppong ramen, which is a spicy Korean pork-based stew with seafood. Paldo's version is also "Flame Cooked" which translates into a distinct smokey taste in the ramen.
The broth is really delicious. You can definitely taste the seafood flavor but also a very umami, meaty flavor as well. The smokiness is really unique, though I do think it is a tad artificial tasting. If you ever tasted something made with liquid smoke, it has that faint chemically taste. Though for an instant ramen, it's pretty good.
The noodles are also a nice texture, though it's pretty standard to the rest of Paldo's noodles. I would have loved to see a wider noodle like in Samyang's version, but I don't have any complaints.
Overall, I highly recommend this ramen if you like spicy ramens because it's super flavorful. Keep in mind it's also Richard's favorite ramen of all time! (and on my Top 5 list)
