A popular ramen shop in the heart of Lakeview
So, I go to this place lot. But to be completely honest, its only because its the closest decent ramen shop near me :P
I'm not saying its bad, its just not the best. The only one I really like is the miso ramen, but richard really likes the tonkatsu. It's a very dependable restaurant, because everytime we go there we have a good experience. I guess that's another reason we come here so often, we know that it will always taste good.
The first time I came here, I waited a long time to get seated but it was worth it. I sat next to kitchen and saw either the owner/manager/head chef inspect/taste all of the noodles and soups and very professionally but stearnly told the staff what they could be doing better. I was super impressed which made me like this place even more.
As for the ramen, my favorite part about this place is actually the noodles. The texture is nice and firm and has a great bite to it. This is in my opinion, is just as important as the flavor. As I mentioned earlier, the only one I really like to get is the miso, because the shoyu (pictured here) is not flavorful enough in my opinion. The tonkatsu is good but not amazing, and a little bit too salty. The miso is the perfect blend of salty and sour flavors.
The meat quality is pretty good, its juicy but not too fatty like some other ramen places.
Each time I've been here the service has been really great. The servers really seem to know what they are doing, and are really friendly. Overall, I would definitely reccommend it!
